Barnes Safer Neighbourhood Team has kept violent crime, anti-social behaviour and burglary as its three ward priorities, with the list unchanged after the latest Police Liaison Group meeting.

On Castelnau, police cite recent reports of anti-social behaviour at a bus stop that are affecting businesses. Castelnau and Hammersmith Bridge are named as busy spots with a history of incidents, and officers say they will keep patrolling both. On violence, the focus is on offences against women and girls and on violence targeting schoolchildren at finish time, with patrols along Lonsdale Road and Castelnau. Community officers have visited local schools. On burglary, officers are making reassurance visits in areas that have seen offences, and offering crime prevention advice through Met Engage.

A bus stop on a shopping street is where trouble costs traders most. Shopkeepers on Castelnau should report problems rather than assume police already know.
