Open Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5pm and weekends 8.30am to 5pm, with the kitchen running until 3pm on both. Cafe 66, 66 White Hart Lane
Further along the same stretch, trading since 2018. Open Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm and weekends 8.30am to 4pm. The seven o'clock weekday opening makes it the pick for anyone out of the door before eight; four o'clock is an early finish, so treat it as a morning place rather than an afternoon one. cafe66barnes.co.uk
Hermanos Coffee Roasters, 7 Barnes High Street
A Colombian roaster rather than a cafe with a coffee machine: the beans are the point, and this is the one to choose if you care what is in the cup. Open Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and weekends 7.30am to 6pm, the longest weekend hours here. Sips & Bites, 185 Castelnau
Cafe, deli and wine bar in one, up towards Hammersmith Bridge and well north of the other four. The Castelnau end has long been the thinnest part of the area for somewhere to stop, and this handles the coffee and the bottle for later in a single errand, which is a particular kind of useful. What has gone
The Boathouse Cafe at 4 Barnes High Street has closed. In September 2025 Richmond Council approved a new shopfront for the estate agent Wilfords London to take the unit, in timber with a heritage colour palette and traditional detailing. One fewer coffee stop on the High Street, one more estate agent.

Five is not many for an area that thinks of itself as a village, and four of them sit within a few hundred metres of each other while the Castelnau end makes do with one. The swap on the High Street, a coffee shop for an estate agent, is the direction of travel worth watching: the question for the next year is whether anything replaces a cafe on Barnes High Street other than a shop selling the houses around it.
