New caterer registers at the Wetland Centre

Contract caterer Elior has registered a kitchen at the London Wetland Centre in Barnes, alongside the trust's own five-rated café listing.

A new food business has registered at the London Wetland Centre off Queen Elizabeth Walk in Barnes: Elior, one of the big contract caterers, listed at the same Queen Elizabeth Walk address as the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust's own café, which was rated five out of five after an inspection in late July. The Elior listing is awaiting its first inspection, which is what a newly registered kitchen looks like.

Two catering registrations at one visitor centre usually points one way: a change of operator. For the volunteers, birdwatchers and buggy-pushers who treat that café as the halfway point of a morning at the reserve, the question is whether the coffee, the prices and the opening hours survive the handover. Who is behind the counter this autumn, and at what price?
